This can clean away the smell from any stale water that is trapped in the hoses. Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to 2 cups of white distilled vinegar. ... If it is the washing machine that seems to be the problem odor then try adding a cup of white vinegar to the washer and run on Normal cycle with no clothes in it.
I found that if I leave the lid on the washer up for about a hour after doing a load of clothes it give the washer's drum time to dry. That took care of my smelly washer problem.

I have a front load washer. With the machine empty ( no clothes in there! ) I just pour 1 cup white vinegar followed with 1 cup water straight into where you normally put the laundry detergent. I run it thru the quickest setting using the HOT water cycle. When it's finished, leave the door open to allow it to dry out. Good Luck.
