How to remove 'rust' on stainless steel in swimming pool?
Pool builder says 'not rust' on stainless steel hand rail. Magnesium salt pool. Tried citric acid without success. Cannot use anything toxic or damaging to pool water/pool surface.

Wd40 may work. It is good to remove rust from metal surfaces.

I know it sounds weird but WD40 will work with 000 steel wool, and it's not toxic.
Try aluminum foil, tear a piece off, ball it up and rub rust, I cleaned my bike fenders using foil, they looked like new
