Can you paint them to make them a stand-out feature? I've never seen a plumbing situation like this and wonder if you can post a photo to get more helpful answers.
Put in a drop ceiling to cover the pipes.
You can put in a drop ceiling or install a faux ceiling with something like lattice. You can paint the entire ceiling and pipes in black which would camoflauge them.
