Have the pets drink apple cider vinegar. Start with small dose til they get used to it.

  • Here is what you need to do. It is a process, so be prepared!

In order to keep fleas and ticks at bay, I spray the perimeter of my property and base of my house with white vinegar once a month. Must be repeated after every rain event.

The vet told me to do this when I adopted 2 infested kittens.... get a glass jar and poke lots of holes in the lid, then fill with 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax and shake it all over the rugs, furniture if needed, and even the bed if they sleep there. Leave on for 3 hours then vacuum it all up and put the vacuum bag/empty cannister outside. Its safe to you and the pet. Then I got Greener Ways natural bug repellent on Amazon that is lemongrass, citronella and cedar oil and I spray any area were some might have got tracked in and can spray on dogs (not cat). I also use food grade diatomaceous earth that I sprinkle on the long hair cat and brush it in, but not on her face, nose.

Watering the lawn regularly with reduce fleas tracked into the house, if they are real bad make a tray with soapy water in it to dip shoes in before entering house. Eucalyptus leaves under the edges of the rugs repels fleas.

I have my cats trained to lay on old folded towels that I shake out daily, and wash weekly.
