Why do my Mandarin trees get suckers on them?
Can someone tell me why these trees get suckers on them? I had to cut 2 off today and they grow much fasterthan the tree LOL. My little dwarf has loads of oranges starting to get bigger, and because I have so many people saidI might have to take some off I'm sure there is a site to look it up but wonder if anyone else has the same. Thanks

Thank you William. This was what I needed. I had two suckers on my dwarf Mandarin tree that appears to be very healthy. I cut these off and will look for the water sprouts. I don't think I saw any but they might be hard to determine if they are sprouts or actual mandarin branches. Mainly due to the fact that my tree is a Dwarf. Thanks for helping.

Since I live in a drought prone area with water limitations, this is an issue on all trees, not just fruit bearing varieties.
