Trudy it is an adult caddis fly. The "long schnoz" is actually two antennae being held next to each other. I know what caddis fly larvae look like, living here in Adirondack lakes country (they are the ones in shallow lake water that make tiny little long "houses" around themselves with bits of debris such as grains of sand, tiny pieces of bark etc..) but I never knew what an adult looks like. So now we know!
