Clean, prep and paint your furniture as usual. White is a good color, because decoupage paper is often see through.
I like using paper napkins for decoupage. There are so many amazing patterns, plus they're thin.
Paint on the decoupage glue, apply the paper and smooth as you go. When it dries, apply another coat of decoupage glue. After it dries, apply 2 coats of polycrylic to seal it well.
