I suggest covering your plants with bird netting.
You would need a net or chicken wire arched cover over them to keep the squirrels out besides down into the ground 6 inches or more on the outside all around to keep them out. OR you could build like a chicken wired fence around your strawberry patch AND include the top on it too, again bury it in the ground 6 inches as they will dig down some to test if they can get under it. That is what we had to do with our strawberry and raspberry patches in one area.
You could also try a spray, something like water that's had garlic or hot peppers soaked in it, that would deter them as long as you spray them every so often and after it rains
