Pallets are a great way to save money on a fence.
Free pallets. MANY business are trying to get rid of them. Most have hardwood since they hold heavy items for shipping. Go to Home Depot and get 10' reinforcing bars. Cut in half yourself or see if they will cut for you to 2-5' lengths. Stand a pallet on end with the boards in horizontal position. Have someone hold upright. Take one rebar and start to pound in the back left and another in the front right. When you have the rebar stable enough (about 6" deep) lift the pallet up. continue to pound the rebar into the ground to the depth of at least a foot. Hoist the pallet back onto the rebar. This positioning keeps it from shifting frontward or backward. One part of your wall DONE. Continue the length of the wall you want.

Most everyone has a limited budget... the question is what limit is it? There are ways to save on store bought privacy fencing, like buying it at the end of the season. We were able to get our half off because that particular style was discontinued. Another way is to watch your local sale sites, like a few I mention in this post... people will remove their used fencing and sell it on these sites. Hope that helps you consider a few ways.
