Have a registered and qualified contractor rebuild the railing.
Right. My freind fell from loose railing and she didn't use cane. She fractured her arm and had surgery. Keep in mind liability if you have anyone on your property using that railing.

Hi Linda Lou, is your railing wood or wrought iron? The fix will be different for each but it sounds as though it might be a job for a handyman.
