Get on pinterest and figure out your style. Do you like farmhouse or boho or traditional style? Assess what you have and figure out what you need. For instance, I'm keeping my bed, but I want new bedding.
For a small room, lighter colors will make the room feel larger and brighter, but dark colors will feel cozy. It all depends on what you want.

Light pretty colour on walls, white paintwork. Curtains or blind in darker shade of walls. Bedding etc. white background and wall colour or wall colour background and white design. Use Cushion or lamp etc. for pop of colour!
