Carpeted Bathroom Gets a New Tile Floor
Must make sure your floor has enough thickness to hold the tile and keep from cracking. Don't skimp, you'll be sorry. Must have at least 3/4" plywood subfloor with 1/2" concrete board over it. Then you can tile.
If you are talking about ceramic tile be sure to pu8t down a good solid base such as plywood at least 1/2 inch thick. On top of that glue the orange mat which is made especially for the installation of tiles and prevents them from cracking. Without this your chances that the seams will open up are really good. Once this has set overnight then lay down your tiles with the proper floor glue. Decide before you start laying how the pattern is going to work and do a dry run so that the sides are even in size.
If it is the vinyl tile or planks then they can be glued down over a good solid base of 1/2 inch plywood.
