What is the best way to seal my Sellers kitchen cabinet?
I have a old hoosier style cabinet with the flour sifter and it's a Sellers. Its been sanded down and the wood is in such great shape I just want to keep it natural. What would be best to put on it to protect it?

Hi Patti. I loooove using Miss Mustard Seed's Hemp Oil on natural wood. It will nourish the wood while protecting it. It is super easy to use (just rub it on with a cloth) and is food grade safe. I even use this stuff on my cutting boards and leather shoes and boots :) I have two coats of it on my dining room table and it has protected it beautifully.
Try lemon oil or renaissance wax .
I use Liquid Gold on unfinished wood. When it gets a little dry looking give it another coat in a few years. I seeps into the wood and shows the grain. I love it.
Just poly it or get minwax you could use a penatrating stain in a color or clear to steal it
really matters what you are trying to go for---shiny finish? matte(hemp) ? lots of surface use? repeating process over & over, reoiling/rewaxing? does it need sealed/waterprofing? pure tung oil https://www.canadianwoodworking.com/get-more/tung-oil-debunking-myths tung oil doesn't darken wood as much which most oils will do ; shellac or pure linseed oil would be good too. walnut oil is good but will darken wood. There are essentially two kinds of oil used for treating wood, oils that harden, and oils that don’t harden,as long as the oil doesn't go rancid it's good for furniture. differences between hemp & tung oil https://www.realmilkpaint.com/blog/tips/tung-oil-vs-hemp-oil/ shellac info. It produces a very fine, mellow finish, and it accentuates the natural grain of thewood. It is especially attractive on walnut, mahogany, and fine veneer woods. It polishes well and is the basis for the traditional French polish finish on very fine furniture. Shellac is applied in several thin coats. info on shellac https://www.woodshopnews.com/columns-blogs/shellac-as-a-sealer-its-all-just-hype Waxing wood http://blog.extremehowto.com/2017/04/06/use-paste-wax-wood/
