The chips make a great table mosiac.
Put the chips at the bottom of a plant pot (before you put in the soil/potting medium) to increase drainage.
I use in bottom of pots for draunage.
Broken brick might be laid in mortar or cement poured into a trash bag lined cardboard box to make a garden stepping stone as near a outdoor faucet. You might color the motor 'black' to give the urban cool look & put a solar light aside it ... the redness of the brick will stand out...or color the cement your favorite color...the black is chic but perhaps not safe ... blends in too much with ground, dirt.

I use mine on the potted plants, they slow evaporation and keep the 4 legged critters out, they have dificulty digging them up.
