What are the best weather conditions for growing hydrangeas?
Is it safe to plant Hydrangeas. I live in Cleveland and the weather has been 85 degrees. It's summer time???

In general, plant in spring or fall in a hole as deep as the ball & 2-3 times wider. Since Cleveland is in 3 different zones, it will be good to know your specific zone for any planting & landscaping advice. Here's a link you can determine your zone by zip code.

I agree with Kathy, that in general, spring and fall are best. However, I would check with your local garden center for their advice. It's 90 degrees here now, too, and our nurseries are full of hydrangeas for sale. I doubt they'd be selling so many if planting them was unwise. If you're going to plant, I would suggest doing it in early morning or late afternoon when the heat of the day has passed and keep them well watered.
