I am in a semi rural area where people have backyard gardens and many pets. The other night I went out and there were rats, skunks and raccoons in one of my fig trees (fruit is getting ripe, I hope I get some!), and they have become accustomed to the motion lights and don't care. I rattled the branches and scolded them and they moved on. Now I go it a few times every night to scare them off.
