How can I soundproof a backyard fence against street noise?

I'm honestly not sure of a QUICK fix - but engineering-wise, you want to create as many layers of the noise to go through as possible.

Plant thick greenery bushes (evergreens are best for this!)

THIS YEAR's solution? maybe get a ton of pool noodles and string them up in sections? (IDK- I'm totally brain-storming on the fly here!)

Lots of thick high hedge type plants..

Plant shrubs or trees. I have heard that it is most effective to sound proof against street/road noise if you plant 2 rows of trees or shrubs. You can also install a gurgling fountain as well. How much noise you can successfully eliminate will depend on the traffic your have to endure.

Adding a water feature might block the noise as well. I would much rather hear trickling water than traffic.
