What is the best way to clean hardwood floors in the kitchen?
I use Dawn and warm water in a bucket with a rag, Michael. I move my furniture away from the wall, get down on floor and get started. If it is dusty I usually use another rag or duster to clear it then wipe with the damp rag. I believe it just makes me feel better when I am really doing a good spring cleaning or fall by crawling around and doing it this way. I have done it like this for years but it works for me!
I am like Tinyshoes! I get a bucket of warm water with some Mr. Clean, some clean rags for washing, and some for drying and get down on my hands and knees. You can see what you are cleaning much better if you are on your hands and knees. If you have carpet you can also wipe a damp rag along the carpet where it touches the baseboard. You will be amazed how much dust and pet hair collects there even if you vacuum a lot. If no carpet you can still wipe the floor along the baseboard.
All of those above work great. For maintenance cleaning you could use the hose and brush attachment on a vacuum on vacuum them as well.
I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for stains, followed by Windex. Some people use microfiber cloths, but I prefer paper towels. For dust alone, use the vacuum attachment followed by a light wiping with Windex.
