I sprinkle cayenne pepper powder generously on the soil, especially around the plants they like to chew the most. I follow that with grated Irish spring soap on the soil. The cayenne needs to be renewed each time it rains and when it seems to be breaking down, the soap not so frequently. It works for me!
Liquid fence works great! spray every other night or every night around your garden not on your vegetables. Put netting over your garden. Home Depot and Lowes carries it!
We have deer also so we have fencing around our garden. We had to put some chicken wire around the bottom half to keep rabbits and woodchucks out.
