How can I build nice but inexpensive shade over my decks?
My house is brick and gets morning sun in the back and afternoon sun on the front of my home. Both my front and back decks are so hot that u can't touch my front door because it is so hot. Trying to make shade on the cheap, but also attractive. Thanks

Hi Jackie, maybe deck sails would work for you? I think they're pretty inexpensive. it would require one or two tall posts to secure them away from the house.
What about a sail? I’ve seen people string outdoor canvas between trees and wires to make shade.
You can also buy sunshade fabric inexpensivly, too!
While fabric suitable for making sunshades can usually be purchased reasonably , it often the cost of the hardware and supports that will make the project pricey.
Acquiring quality hardware that is robust enough to keep the shade anchored in the wind without damaging the surface that is it mounted into is a critical step.
