How can I remove carpet glue from cement?

When I bought my house there was outside carpet on the front steps, over the years it started looking bad so recently I began to rip it up and for the most past the carpet came off but the glue residue remained. I have no fancy tools, please how do I get it up as it looks bad! Thanks in advance for any help!!

Scraping with a stiff putty knife. Warm it up with a blow dryer to soften it. Use an adhesive remover.
Use an adhesive removed like Klean Strip.
Loosen with an adhesive remover then invest in a scrape that is designed for floors so that you can stand and put your weight into it.
