I have terrible areas of non-growth in my yard were the sprinkler doesn't hit. I thought instead of adding my sprinklers I would ask you (the community) what have you done about those unsightly areason your lawn? Maybe you can share you ideas with images! Many thanks, Steve

I added a couple giant planters with a meyer lemon tree and a lime tree — not sure how many spots you have because you wouldnt want too many planters.
You could also create a firepit or decorative rock area over the sparse spots.

Living in a drought ridden area, I have several areas on my property where I have used gravel or rocks and potted plants. Look into Xeriscaping those areas.

you need to either add better full coverage heads or add additional ones to cover all of the area you need to get water. whoever installed system to begin with did not do it correctly. try removing the heads and cleaning/soaking them in vinegar to see if they spray wider/farther(this will remove mineral deposit build up). Plant drought tolerant Perennials/Flowers/Herbs in those areas it will increase bugs & wildlife that are much needed in any environment. Unless you want a neat & tidy garden area you don't need to do a whole over haul of areas just dig into soil and add Perennials,or dig up brown grass(lots of work) and put in garden beds. You do not state where you live-City?Climate?are they full sun? shade? I would give you plant recommendations for areas
Could the sprinkler heads might be upgraded or adjusted to meet your need?
Simple, eliminate the need for water and replace the grass... Personally, I went over to an area being cleared to build homes and loaded up with flat rock, after gaining permission to do so. Then, I got some river rock, cacti, succulents and a variety of native plants accustomed to living without care and made some gorgeous natural garden areas with flat rock walkway patio. Solar ground lighting really picks it up at night. Our yard looks sculptured.
