You can get special paint for tile floors.
Glazed tile? If so, yes, buy a paint made specifically for that.

Unlike painting floor tile for bathroom tile, I would wonder if the heat from the fireplace might cause the paint to discolor or deteriorate. They have high heat specialty paint for outdoor gas grills —I am not sure if you would need a specialized paint that could be exposed to the heat from the fireplace.
The best answer might involve contacting the paint manufacturers directly.
Make sure you use a heat resistant paint.
