Hi Coach,
Pour painting is a lot of fun and produces beautiful results. Here's a video of a rock/stone pour painting. The only problem is that it doesn't explain how to mix the paint. You'll need a "pouring medium". Floetrol is used by a lot of people but you can use Elmer's Glue All plus a little water to make the paint flow. The little dots ("cells") in the paint are caused by spraying a bit of silicone into the paint when mixing. If you like this look, it's worth looking up other pour painting projects for beginners to find more information about the painting techniques. Wishing you the best.

I've used larger stones, purchased from a local nursery, as decorations in my flower lots and beds. I wash them well with soap and water, rinse and dry overnight, prime them and allow to dry according to the primer directions, then, spray paint with gold or silver paint, let dry yet again and use as decoration!
