I do not think you have thought this through, nor can I picture this idea looking appealing. What are you going for, here?
I would guess you would need a wooden base to start and wrap the wire around it. Just a guess because the wire base needs to support a glass top so that means you need something stronger within the wire base. Personally, I think your idea might take some redesigning.

Heavy gauge wire won't hold up. Metal table bases are made out of bar stock and welded joints.
You would need to attach the wire to a base sturdy enough to support the top.
