How can I stop my sink from leaking and why vent inside? (stinky)
This just started a few weeks ago. When water runs from my 1/4 sink into the drain, it seems to back up and leak out of the pipe. This never happens with my 3/4 sin... See more
Pour boiling water down the drain. Then add a half cup of baking soda and let it sit for a minute. Pour a cup of vinegar and a cup of hot water down the drain. Cover loosely and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Pour another pot of boiling water down the drain to flush out the clog.
I just pour some baking soda down the drain. Then pour some vinegar down. Immediately cover the drain with a cloth and press down. The pressure should push the clog through. If a double sink cover both drains with a cloth since they are connected together.
Remove as much as possible with a snake or drain cleaning tool. Pour ½ cup baking soda then ½ cup white vinegar in the drain and cover, letting sit for 20 minutes. Boil water, remove cover, and pour water down the drain. You may have to repeat the process.
I really like Ann’s answer. I always like to use a bottle brush or wire hanger in case the clog is just one place that’s jammed like a cork. Be careful not to pole a hole in a pipe or hose. Jewell!
Don't know if its a bthrm or kitchen sink. Bthrm sink could be hair down the drain. Need to buy Zip It at Lowes or Home Depot. Push it down drain and pull it back up and you will be amazed at amount of hair and gunk. Also try the baking soda followed by vinegar then wait ten mins and pour boiling water to keep drains running smoothly.
