Hi Maria, tile can be covered up by just about anything. Sheetrock, bead board, more tile etc. If its the color of the tile (and not just the tile) that you want to change you can purchase tub and tile paints specifically for that to change the look.
Think twice. That is the perfect backdrop for any decor you may ever want to use. Just add color, charm and style with your hardware, lighting and accessories. Can look like an entirely new room with new rugs, towels, hardware.
If you don't want to replace the tiles, you can add color with decor. Command hooks will adhere to the tile to enable you to hang items on the wall. New co-ordinating linens to add color as well.
If you are brave, you can paint the tile or stencil some of them for accent purposes.

I agree with Naomie, white tile is timeless and you can do so many styles and colors with it! Try switching out the less expensive stuff first and see what you think.
