What type of tile is it?
Take a picture in the daylight and see if your home improvement store can match it? Or.....A floor specialist can match an epoxy with colored enamel that you can apply to the worn area to make it look like part of the original tile.
It sounds like this is not ceramic tile. If it is, then what has been put on the floor over the past few years? Has it been sealed? Has it been coated? Has it been cleaned with something caustic?
Call the installer for recommendations.
You might contact the installer and the manufacturer of the tile but it sounds like it's wearing down. There's not a lot that can be done about wear and tear.
