Hi Beverly, Here's a tutorial that you might find helpful if you decided to paint the tile.

I hate that you want to cover up this 50s tile. But I understand. People around here pay a lot for 50s houses with original tile. Use the epoxy kits made for painting tile foe best results.
I know you hate the pink and black, because I had it in a house and hated it, too. But after seeing the terrible results a friend had when they painted the tile with a kit (the paint job eventually peeled and chipped), I decided to embrace the pink. I scrubbed the tile and grout lines, re-grouted it, recaulked round the tub, and went shopping for a complementary paint and/or wallpaper with a 50's look. I still hated it, but it looked good and got lots of compliments.
Whatever you do, good luck!
There's a tub and tile paint that you can find at Home Depot. It only comes in white though but does the trick.
To Kelly’s point, I would suggest that you look at websites that are called “embrace the pink“.
Is that bathroom has survived over 65 years, then you might want to reconsider, what is truly worth, at this point in time
If you want to throw it away, then salvage the tile and sell it, online.
This will be a huge amount of work but people will pay for it, believe me.
Rustoleum or Homax tub and tile paint kits are the best.
