You can put ceramic tile or granite (not marble) tile on it.
You can put concrete dye/stain on it, in all kinds of ways and colors: sponge it, dry brush it for wood grain effect, create faux tile or other pattern on it, granite-like stippling and more. Any sealer will have to be sanded off or stripped, so that the dye permeates the concrete.,
The dye/stain comes in translucent and opaque formulas, depending on the brand.
Then re-Seal when finished, to make ash clean up easier.
Don't know what your decor is, but you could paint. Clean really well, then put a base coat down that sticks good. I believe the in one called Stixs that is very good. Then paint the color you want and seal.
The fireplace is gas so the paint would have to be heat resistant!
To clean, spray with original Krud Kutter. Let it sit a while. Wipe off.
I agree. You can use Krud Kutter or any other degreaser. You can tile or stain it with concrete stain.
You can DIY a stone mat that you can place on top. Either one long one or two or three . Iโm sending a How too from Pintrest, but check and use a mat and glue thatโs safe near a fire place.
Almost forgot to send !
