We actually attract raccoons because they kill rats, mice and moles. If you absolutely don’t want them, make sure there is no pet food or bird food out. If you have certain fruits, like grapes or berries, they will come for those. Our wild raccoons come to the window and scratch letting us know they are hungry, ha, and we feed them some cat food & grapes, and there is still an appetite for rats.

Or...once the entire garden is destroyed in a single night raccoon raid they will move on to the neighbors!
Our raccoons come for the snails in the garden, and they are welcome to them. Then they finish off any remaining cat food.
To keep raccoons at a distance, try scattering blood meal around corn plants. Also try sprinkling wood ashes around your plants. Grind up garlic, mix it with an equal portion of chili powder, and spread it around the garden.
