Cords are fairly inexpensive. They usually just clip in.
If you mean cell phone cord, wrap the cord in Teflon tape. You can get this at DIY stores. Works well, I have done this and it holds up. No need to glue the end of the tape It clings to itself.
I always like the colored electricians tape, buy a set of 3 colors at the Dollar Tree.
Wrap with tape.
