Buy fleece at the fabric store, cut it to size. It will be OK. If you want a finished edge, cut 2 or 3 inch strips around the edges and tie each strip along the edge.
Hi Lona,
Some of our Hometalk members have made no-sew blankets. Here's the link to explore them. Wishing you the best.

Take two pieces of fleece the same size and shape and pin together. Cut 1" wide strips that are 6"long all the way around (so it looks like it is fringed all the way around)....tie each strip (front fringe strip to back fringe strip) all the way around instead of sewing.
Here is a tutorial for a tied fleece blanket https://afreshsqueezedlife.com/2016/12/01/tied-fleece-blanket-tutorial/
The tied fleece blankets are fun, easy and quite warm. I still have two of them my mom and I "tied / made" over 20 years ago. Its simply two pieces of felt cut to the same size and then cut in fringe made about 1 inch long and 6 inches deep. Its as simple as just tying the fringe then.
