Showing some improvement but any ideas for cause and treatment for hydrangeas?
Can you help me identify what is wrong with my hydrangea?
Newly planted hydrangeas with issues on the leaves. I’m in North Carolina. A few weeks ago appeared as though some critter was munching but that seems to have improved. Any ideas what is causing these spots on the leaves and what to do about it

Can you help me identify this bush?
I have a bush that has leaves similar to a chrysanthemum but it has thorns. Don't know if it's a plant or a weed! It was here when we moved in last summer.
Take pics and a leaf to your local nursery. They are a great help plus carry what you need to fix the problem.
It’s a fungal infection basically. I live in NC too. It happens occasionally. Treatment can be found at the store in a bottle of fungicide. Follow the directions.......usually spray 7 to 10 days and the fungus will die off.
You've got scale! Get some garden Neem oil - Home Depot has it - follow the instructions to treat. I always try to DIY my garden issues in natural ways.
"Neem oil insecticide kills some pests after they have eaten leaves sprayed with it, while it repels others with its strong smell. Neem oil is used to control many pests, including whitefly, aphids, Japanese beetles, moth larvae, scale, and spider mites."
Take off any parts that are really heavily infested. Before treating the entire plant, you can use q-tips with alcohol or the neem oil and dab each individual scale/spot.
Ropbyn is right. These are actually tiny living things under the scaley cover. Be sure to NOT PUT THEM IN WITH YARD TRASH!
Thanks everyone for your help and warnings! I Don’t need to make it worse and perpetuate throughout! Appreciate the help
Neem oil in a sprayer or canola oil.. dish soap works too
