Hi Marie Jo, vinegar can be used in so many different ways but one thing it does well is absorb odors. Just placing an open bowl with vinegar in it will absorb odors overnight. It can also be used with water and soap to clean and degrease an area.
I use it to clean the mirror, shower doors, and it is great for cleaning any soap residue.
I use a dilution of white vinegar and water 50/50 in an open bowl for odor control.

If you bed is timber, then rub the vinegar into it following the grain and it will darken it.
