Hello Beten,
I just used ordinary multi purpose compost to plant mine up and they are doing real well!
Slice-off one of the blades near the base, let the cut end dry. Then pit the cut end in a small pot of moist soil & keep it fairly well watered. The blade should root off & create a new plant.
Hi Beten, I am glad you asked as my husband and I just planted over 70 this past weekend! https://www.hometalk.com/diy/grow/plants/plant-aloe-vera-43829943
