Hello Katherine,
First design the type of table you want ( you don't say whether it is round , square, oblong decide how many legs you want, the shape of the legs. Whether you want them at the corners or randum, in the shape of a cross or one solid base (Circle, square or long narrow oblong) One you have the design, it should be easy enough to work out what you are going to need. A way to do this is to make it up a mini version in cardboard or timber, then size up the components etc to pieces and order or collect your timber/metal to suit. Or you could cheat and buy a used base or an old table and refurbish it to suit or Use a Cable Drum or Garden table frame!
It's really up to you, the choices are many! Best wishes - Enjoy the journey!!

Hi ! You don't say what style you want ....You can buy wooden legs or wooden spindles for stairs at home depot . You can use plumbing pipe , that comes in black , dull silver ( can be spray painted ) or copper . You can find an industrial salvage hard and look around it for something unusual that might work ! Good luck !
