Is your water heater electric or gas Cynthia?
Depending were you live, some states require a licensed plumber to install for you.
I am in CA and we can install our own, provided you know what you are doing. I did it myself as I was not going to pay over $700 to swap out my gas water heater. Get help as even a 30 gallon tank is cumbersome. Here are some sites for you.
