How can I make over the area where a bathtub was?
I removed my bathtub from small bathroom, I'm not putting one back but would like to know what to do with empty space and also to hide all the water faucets and shower head?

I want to update it but I have to do so on a tight budget. Mostly looking to update the tile and surround and maybe get rid of the step.
I would make it into a closet, Darlene. The water can be turned off to that area and the faucets and shower head can be removed.
I am doing the same thing in my bathroom and I will be putting a dressing table in the spot. You will probably need to have a plumber cap off the faucets and shower head and then you will need to cover the wall, perhaps drywall or use wood paneling like shiplap.
If you want to sell your house in the future, keep the plumbing stub-ins. As Ann wrote, a closet. It could be a storage armoire to match the vanity too.
