Can I paint use wood paint on a dresser that has been sealed?

I painted a dresser with regular wall paint then sealed it with polyurethane. Do not like it all .Can I paint over this with wood paint? Or do I have to resend all of it?

Debbie...I would sand then paint
I don't think that is a good idea. I would either strip or sand to remove the poly finish.
Chalk paint is really good paint that works on any surfaces without any prep work
You would need to sand off or remove the polyurethane first with solution from a paint store. OR you could wipe it down with warm water and then chalk paint it. I would chalk paint it, my self, if I wanted the easy route, Debbie.
