BIRD NEST HOME BUILDING DEPOT
Upcycle dryer lint for wild birds home building material.
Wild Bird nest building materialWild birds have been building nest since the beginning of time, without any assistance from people. Wild birds could benefit from our trash in a curious way. Almost everyone has a clothe dryer with a lint collector screen. That screen should be regularly cleaned to keep the dryer functioning normally. The lint is generally just pitched in the trash along with the dryer sheet. The birds find twigs, leaves and such for building nests. It would be fantastic if they could find those little bunches of dryer lint, which is probably the greatest nest building material ever just lying on the ground along your back fence. People have bird feeders, why not a home building material depot?

That is super, I share my dog's hair for them as well!
Dryer lint is not good for nesting birds. As a matter of fact, it can be dangerous to baby birds.

Hi there Country Girl,
I have tried doing that on many occasions, but the birds don't take it and it just lays there and makes a mess when wet!
