Paint worn off around door pulls.
How can I make over the kitchen cabinets in a rental unit?
We recently downsized to an apartment and are loving our new home. . . Except for the kitchen cabinets which drive me crazy 😊. The doors were painted (not allowed) by a previous tenant and don’t match the cabinet base! The paint is wearing off around the door pulls and imperfections are very noticeable. Any suggestions for a reversible fix are very much appreciated!PS: I’ve purchased new brass replacement pulls for the doors 😊
Painted doors don’t match cabinet base.
Imperfections stand out!!

You need permission from the landlord on what you can do in writing. What ever is allowed.
You can cover it with peel and stick wallpaper or contact paper. I found one that looks like wood and used it over a hideous bathroom cabinet and in the kitchen of my rental unit. This one is pretty! There's a bunch on amazon
What about plates behind the pulls? You can probably get some that match the new pulls you ordered.
Do these cupboards hold everything? Food and china? You could remove some of the doors and maybe paint the interiors? Display the china in those. I would probably do what Kim suggests though and just use peelable wallpaper but just on the raised front. Leave the edges of brown for "framing"
Talk with your landlord and see if they are willing to work with you to remedy the problem caused by the previous tenant. I assume they charged the previous tenant for the damage caused and they might be willing to work with you since you're showing interest in improving the place. Most landlords are always interested in improving the property, but sometimes it's discouraging when tenants do these types of changes without permission.
Maybe contact papers huge range lots of styles and colours
