Hi Mikey,
Immediately call in the professionals, do no wait or try to resort to home remedies. They have the staff, chemicals, trained technicians, and a warranty. They know where to look and treat and keep returning until the job is done. The average person has none of this because they do not do this for a living and are untrained. By not calling in the pro's you run the risk of spreading the infestation further and for a longer period of time. Call them up now.
I have had them as a result of a resort visit and they cause some very unpleasant bites. You have my sympathy and best to you.
Put all her belongings immediately in a garbage bag and wash in hot water and dry in the dryer on high heat for at least 30 minutes if you suspect you've been exposed to bedbugs. There are sites online to prevent carrying them into your home from resorts. The most cost effective way to take care if your house has been infested is an exterminator. 1 room is typically $250 and entire house is $1120. It involves spraying, 2 subsequent visits to make sure the problem is resolved, and a guarantee.
