How can I secure a decoration to my door so that no one can steal it?

Is there a way to prevent theft ( this has happened to me ) but not ruin my door. I would like to be able to remove it after Christmas.

Are you are talking about a wreath? You could make it difficult to remove by drilling a hole in the wreath hanger and wiring the wreath to the hanger.
Yes, a wreath or other type of decoration. We rent; can’t drill holes or deface the door. I used a hanger last time but the thieves broke it and still got the decoration.
