How do I make a DIY headboard on a slanted (gambrel) wall/ceiling?
We just bought a house and I cannot figure out how or what to do for a king-sized headboard in our upstairs, master bedroom. The wall/ceiling is gambrel. Help!

I would do a fabric canopy that hangs down from the ceiling and slopes with the curve and then tucks behind the bed. No other headboard.

Hello JED,
1. Form a shelf on the wall where you want the top of the headboard to be and then add timber to the front of it down to the ground, ( could fill in the sides too or make a hinged door for storage of some kind) and set the bed in front of it.
OR Fix a Curtain wire or rod across at the top where you want it to be and slot a curtain or fabric on to it, and push the bed up to the wall (holding the curtain softly in place.)
This looks like a "half Tester" if you form a drop down Pelmet to the top of it, by setting the slot for the rod about 12" from top of curtain.
Best wishes, Hope this helps.
You could do a large monogram over the bed where a head board would be.
Can you share a photo? That would help a lot for ideas. :)
Thank you. These aren’t the best to share but I didn’t want to disturb our Lucy-cat.
Can you provide more details ?
You could do an accent wall on the wall that slants and use that as a visual headboard. It will help define the space really well.
