They are trying to avoid drowning. Perhaps lay a swath of thick mulch along your drive for them to perch on after a hard rain.

You can't control mother nature . . . I just pick them up and move them to a safe spot.
You really can't do much about those worms on your driveway Ron. I have a happy flock of robins that take care of that for me!

I don't think you can, they kinda go where they go. If you've got cracks, try sealing those up but generally you can't stop them.
