Make sure it isn't load bearing first. Here is a video with some tips! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRQjK41qyvY
Do some exploratory holes first to check for HVAC pipes, plumbing and electrical junctions as these will be expensive to relocate. Then check for load bearing and if it is you will have to determine the width of the opening and the amount of structural beam that will be required using a structural engineer for advice.
Is the wall load bearing? If so you will need a steel and calculations to ensure it is correctly sized to take the weight.
The wall is not weight bearing
Removing a wall is fairly simple; however, it is important to make sure the wall you want to remove isn't load bearing.

If you haven't already had a structural engineer out to verify that indeed the wall is not load bearing, you carefully remove the wall material then remove the studs. If there's electrical or plumbing in there, you'll need those pro's to assist.
