I think we have them in our house
After the mattress is cleaned, the mattress should be sealed in a large plastic mattress bag to make sure the bugs are killed and can't spread. If you have essential oils, they can useful in a spray on any areas that may have been exposed. I'd call in a pro. I have a friend who tried to get rid of them herself and a month later had to get rid of all of her cloth furniture, curtains, mattresses and rugs. It would have been cheaper to exterminate than buy all new things.
Call in a pro immediately!
These pests spread like wildfire and are nothing to mess around with. The pro's have the training, skill, chemicals, equipment, know where to look and treat effectively. The bed bugs can be in more than 1 location (rugs, furniture, clothing, curtains...) other than the mattress and frame. They also have a guarantee and will keep coming back until the bed bugs are gone. The pro's do this for a living and as homeowners we don't.
Wow ! This is a big problem !!! They are hard to get rid of and need a lot of prep work !!! I heard that a natural way is to use diatomaceous earth . All linens and clothes in the home must be washed & dried and kept in sealed plastic bags until the cycle of bed bugs are killed off . Carpets need to be treated as well . She really needs to do a lot of research !!! Good luck !!!!
Agreed with the above comments. Don't try to DIY this one. They get worse so fast! You want to all the pros asap. Best of luck!
Hi Shenise - Despite always preferring the all-natural method, everything I've read says it's best to go with the professionals for abatement. After the bed bugs are eliminated, this article is how to clean a mattress in 5 easy steps. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
