Do you recommend getting a fingerprint door lock or the keypad kind?
Hi, I am cosidering 2 kinds of door locks. 1 is ardwolf A60 fingerprint door lock, one is Schlage. I am thinking of getting a fingerprint one for my little kid, and not sure if he can remember passcode.

Hi Sophiestu,
If you have a young son entering your house using a fingerprint, would there be anyone home to receive him and make sure everything is ok? Or would he be home alone?
A stranger could follow him and press his finger to gain access to your house, are you aware this could happen and have a disastrous outcome?
A young child should not have to let himself in or be responsible for a passcode, a parent or guardian should be present at all times when unlocking a house for a child at such a tender age.
You might want to rethink your question.
@Redcatec has a point about putting the responsibility on the child to get in without the aid of parents.
@Sophiestu- as a father of 3 boys- they sometimes can accidentally lock themselves out so I do see the benefit of a key-less entry in these scenarios.
If you have a garage door- there are also keypads that you can add to the outside of the door for them to have a code if needed.
Mine range from 7-14 so the older ones have an app on their phone as well so we can track them when they are at practice or other events without us. However, they use it more to see where we are...
We use a number that's easy to remember because it's an ad jingle. Make the number something he can remember easily.
I agree with Redcatcec and SawHorse. The convenience is great but can be dangerously abused especially involving a child. Consider some other means.
Think twice. What if someone needs to enter the home on a random basis? I have a pet sitter and my ex husband comes over occasionally. Not in favor of fingerprint entry for more reasons than I can count. Any child young enough not to be able to remember the code should not be left unattended in the first place. I get wanting security, maybe go with a code, and give your child a cell phone to call you when they arrive home to get the code to enter?
