How To Paint Your Old Couch + Paint That Acts Like Faux Leather!
Over the years, I've seen people use chalk paint to paint just about all types of chairs, velvet, microsuede, cotton - including recliners. So it is doable. Some people use a fabric medium others do not. I believe it depends on the material of your chair. I've never done it, but in posts I've seen it holds up well.
I’ve read about painting fabric that was not a good solution. They didn’t dilute it, they didn’t work it in and it made the fabric hard and non-flexible.
I would spray it with automotive fabric dye.
